Crypto Seed Bank Engraving Instructions

These instructions apply to the latest Crypto Seed Bank design and product improvements. If you have an earlier version, you can still follow the same engraving process. The main differences include an extra line for nicknames and the provided keychain product.

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Crypto Seed Bank instructional guide! This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of engraving your seed phrase securely.

2. Unboxing

Inside the box, you will find:

  • Two stainless steel Crypto Seed Bank cards – fireproof, waterproof, and corrosion-resistant.

  • Engraving pen – equipped with a tungsten engraving tip.

To use the engraving pen:

  1. Remove the plastic cap.

  2. Press and hold the button to deploy the tungsten tip.

  3. Adjust the tip so it is about halfway exposed.

3. Setting Up for Engraving

Before you begin engraving, ensure the following:

  • Work on a flat surface with good lighting.

  • Have your seed phrase written down for reference.

  • Work slowly and carefully – engraving is permanent, and there is no undo option.

4. Engraving Process

  1. Practice First – Engrave a nickname for your wallet on the bottom line to get comfortable with the technique.

  2. Stack the Cards – Place one card on top of the other and use the built-in stencil to guide engraving.

  3. Secure the Cards – Hold them firmly with your non-writing hand to prevent movement.

  4. Use Proper Technique:

    • Work on a thin table to help keep the cards stable.

    • Hold the engraving pen at a near 90-degree angle.

    • Use light pressure – the tungsten tip is sharp and does not require force.

    • Trace back and forth within the stencil, using 5-10 strokes per letter.

    • Use a three-finger grip for stability.

  5. Engraving the Seed Phrase:

    • Only engrave the first four letters of each word, as this is all that is required.

    • The process may take over 30 minutes per card, so take breaks as needed.

    • Mistakes? Simply cross out errors – legibility is more important than aesthetics.

 

5. Post-Engraving Tips

  • Use the provided keychain to keep both cards together.

  • For added security, apply the tamper-proof stickers to seal the cards. Once removed, these stickers cannot be reapplied and leave a “void” mark.
